Thomas Grymwade

Thomas Grymwade was born about 1487 to Thomas Grymwade. The younger Thomas married first -- -- and second Alice --. He made his will 10 August 1547, which was proved 28 November 1547. He resided in Nedging, Suffolk, England.

His widow Alice was living in Lavenham, Suffolk, England, when she made her will 24 September 1557 and proved 21 April 1558. She did not name any children, including the three sons mentioned in Thomas' will. Therefore, Thomas' first wife is more likely to be the mother of the three sons.

Thomas and his first wife’s children are:

  1. Thomas Grymwade, mentioned in his father's will but probably deceased as his father left bequests to his children but not to him, married -- --.
  2. William Grymwade, mentioned in his father's will, married Anne Freman (will made 19 Jan 1580/1 and proved 8 Jun 1581, bur. 26 May 1581 in Whatfield, Suffolk, England), will made 15 Apr 1569, a yeoman of Whatfield, Suffolk, England.
  3. Edmunde Grymwade, mentioned in his father's will, transferred the lease of Whatfield Hall in Whatfield, Suffolk, England (left to him in his father's will) to William.
