John Smith

John Smith resided in Stratford St. Mary, Suffolk, England. John married first Cristyn -- and second Cicely --.

He made his will 3 March 1467/8, which was proved 2 October 1468. In it, he left directions about his wishes regarding his burial with his two wives in the church at Stratford St. Mary. Besides his wives and the two children below, he also mentioned his wife's daughter (not specifying which wife), his sister's children (sister not named), a nephew Thomas (last name not given), and a cousin (kinsman) named Simond (last name not given).

He was buried in the church at Stratford St. Mary, Suffolk, England, according to the 1586 will of his great-great-grandson, William Smithe, gentleman, of Stratford St. Mary.

John’s children (mother not known in either case) are:

  1. William Smith, named in his father's will, married 1) -- -- and 2) Katherine Brown (dau. of -- and Anne (--) Browne, will made 24 Sep 1511 and proved 12 Jan 1511/2), will made 29 Oct 1492 and proved 6 Feb 1492/3, a resident of Stratford St. Mary, Suffolk, England.
  2. Cicely Smith, named in her father's will.
