To the poor people of Black Notley 5s. and of Braintree 5s.
To Mary my wife my copyhold tenement and lands which I hold of the manor of Braintree for her life; after her decease, to John my son. To my wife my best bed, 1 of my chests at her choice, and 40s. to pay her fines, with all my apparel.
To my youngest son my indenture of lease and term of years which I hold of the honourable Robert Lord Riche of 2 parcels of land sometime parcel of the manor of Slampsey [in White Notley]. To him £10.
To Denise Stebbinge daughter of my son-in-law Mark Stebbing £10 to be paid to her father to her use at 18.
To my daughter Mary wife of the said Mark £10.
To my late servant Thomas Pareman 5s.
To my cousin Husse's wife 5s.
To my servant Mary Browne a quarter of barley.
To my kinsmen Rust of Rayne and Thomas Rust of Debden 5s apiece and my kinsman Aveling Rust 5s.
The rest of my goods to John my eldest son, whom I make exor.
Witnesses: Joseph Manne, George Raymond writer, Elias Worthem.
