Two groups of Clapp siblings settled in America. These two groups were cousins, the grandchildren of Richard and Christian Clapp. Nicholas and Prudence, two of the children of Richard and Christian's son Nicholas, each married first cousins, Sarah and Edward respectively, who were both children of Richard and Christian's son William.
To complicate matters, Nicholas and Sarah's great-grandson, Jonathan Clapp, married Jane Tucker, a great-granddaughter of Edward and Prudence. Thus, Jonathan and Jane (Tucker) Clapp's daughter, Jane Clapp, was a four-time descendant of Richard and Christian Clapp!
