Esaye Hauguel

According to Elwyn L. Simons, there appears to be a relationship between Judith, Nicollas, and Esaye Hauguel as Nicollas appears as a sponsor at one of Judith's sons' baptisms and Esaye and Jacques Lesueur and his wife all appear as sponsors to some of Nicollas' children. Simons estimates that Judith and Nicollas were about the same age and that Esaye did not have any children recorded in any baptismal register. He suggests that Esaye could have been old enough to have had children before the registers began and therefore could be the father of Judith and Nicollas, though he could also have been a brother or other relative. The theoretical Hauguel family is as follows:

Esaye Hauguel was a resident of St. Aubin de Cretot, Seine-Maritime, France.

Esaye's children:

  1. Judith Hauguel, born about 1578, married Jacques Lesueur, died 26 January 1645 in Lintot, Pays de Caux, Normandy, France.
  2. Nicollas Hauguel, married Marie Huet.
