The Proposed Ancestries of John Hussey

These are two theoretical pedigrees for John Hussey. I have not done any research on the material below.

Possible Ancestry #1

Henry Hussey and Judith Pagett
    Henry Hussey was born in 1547 in Slynfold, Sussex, England to John Hussey. On Easter, 1662, Henry was enrolled in Queens College at Cambridge University. He was a resident pensioner at Cambridge in August 1564. Henry married Judith Pagett. Henry was the Clerk of the Spicery in service to Queen Elizabeth I and to King James I.  He died 23 May 1611 and was buried in the south aisle of the church at Battersea, Middlesex, England where a monument was inscribed:
    “To Henry Hussey, Esquire his loving wife Judeth Pagett hath erected this monument. He was born at Slinkford in Sussex.  He was Clarke of the Spicery to Queen Elizabeth and King James, and lived in the court 35 yeares.  He delivered his soul to God on the 23rd of May 1611, in the 64th year of his age; his body lyeth buried here waiting for a joyful resurrection.”

Henry and Judith’s chidren include:

1. John Hussey, born 29 April 1559, may have been the one who married Mary Wood or Moor 5 Feb 1593/4.

John Hussey
John was a resident of Guildford, Surrey, England. He was one of “Her Majesty’s Commissioners for Surrey and Sussex”.

John and his wife’s chidren include:

1. Henry Hussey, born in 1547 in Slynfold, Sussex, England, enrolled in Queens College, Cambridge University, a resident pensioner there in 1564, married Judith Pagett, Clerk of the Spicery to Elizabeth I and James I, died 23 May 1611, buried Battersea, Middlesex, England.

Sir Henry Hussey and Eleanor Bradbridge
Sir Henry Hussey was of Sussex, England. He married Eleanor Bradbridge. Eleanor was the daughter and sole heir of John Bradbridge of Slynfold. Henry was a recipient of a subsidy from King Henry VIII in 1523, a member of the king’s household August 1, 1524, knight, and a member of Parliament for Horsham. Henry was on the king’s Commission of Sewers (who supervised the serving of food and the seating of the guests in the royal household) 4 July 1538 and on a grand jury panel in 30 November 1538.  Henry died in 1557.

Henry and Eleanor’s chidren include:

1. John Hussey, resident of Guildford, Surrey, England, one of “Her Majesty’s Commissioners for Surrey and Sussex”.

John Bradbridge
John Bradbridge was of Slynfold, Surrey, England. He is said to be a descendant of Roger de Bradbridge, living 1355.

John and his wife’s daughter is:

1. Eleanor Bradbridge, married Sir Henry Hussey, her father’s only heir.
