Nikolaus Schäfer

Nikolaus Schäfer was born about 1750 in Meisenheim, Rheinland Palatinate, Germany to -- Schäfer and Anna Margaretha --. He settled in Louis, Samara, Russia 14 Jun 1766, along with his mother, stepfather, and siblings.

Nikolaus married first -- -- (name unknown), by whom he had his first three recorded children (as there is a large gap between two of the children, it may be that there were additional children). The family moved to Graf, Samara, Russia in 1788. Nikolaus' wife died about 1792-3.

He married second Anna Maria Engel. Anna Maria was born about 1776 in Wittmann, Samara, Russia. Nikolaus died in 1820 in Graf, Samara, Russia.

Nikolaus and his first wife’s children are:
  1. Nikolaus Schäfer, born about 1780 in Louis, Samara, Russia, married Dorothea Schmidt (b. abt 1786 in Graf, Samara, Russia to Johann Adam Schmidt and Dorothea Geigel), died in 1838 in Graf, Samara, Russia.
  2. Katharina Schäfer, born about 1790 in Graf, Samara, Russia.
  3. Jakob Schäfer, born about 1792 in Graf, Samara, Russia, died in 1830 in Graf, Samara, Russia.

Nikolaus and Anna Maria’s children are:

  1. Anton Schäfer, born about 1794 in Graf, Samara, Russia, married Eva --.
  2. Peter Schäfer, born about 1796 in Graf, Samara, Russia, married Margaretha -- (b. abt. 1806, according to the 1834 census, or 1796, according to the 1850 census - there is the possibility that Peter had two wives named Margaretha or it may have been a recording or transcription error and one of the two dates is wrong).
  3. Christoph Schäfer, born about 1799 in Graf, Samara, Russia, died in 1820 in Graf, Samara, Russia.
  4. Augustin Schäfer, born about 1814 in Graf, Samara, Russia.
