The Freman Family

The parents of Anne (Freman) Grymwade are currently not known. However, information about some of her relatives can be found in her will and the will of one John Freman.

An unknown couple named Freman’s children are:

  1. Anne Freman, married William Grymwade (son of Thomas Grymwade, will made 15 Apr 1569, a yeoman of Whatfield, Suffolk, England), will made 19 Jan 1580/1 and proved 8 Jun 1581, buried 26 May 1581 in Whatfield, Suffolk, England.
  2. John Freman, mentioned in his sister Anne's will, a yeoman, resided in Hadleigh, Suffolk, England, will made 10 May 1592 and proved 6 Jun 1592, no issue mentioned in his will, mentioned Grimwade and Seman kin in his will, left bequests to several servants, including "my poore simple [probably mentally disabled] servaunt Maude Rogers" who was to provided for by William Grymwade (who had been named John's executor) and "my boye Robert
Whatlocke" who was to brought up in husbandry or another honest occupation.
  3. (daughter) Freman, married -- Seman, mentioned in her sister Anne's will as "my sister Seman" but probably deceased by then because Anne left bequests to her children and not her.
