Adriaen Meertensen de Jongh and Maijken (Maria) --
Adriaen Meertensen de Jongh was the son of Meerten Adriaens de Jongh. Adriaen was the buurmeester of Herwijnen in 1616.[1] He married Maria — (also called Maijken, which is simply a variation on the name Maria).
Adriaen and Maijken's children:
- Marten Arissen, married Mariken Jans 14 Mar 1627 in Herwijnen, Gelderland, Nertherlands.[2]
- Ariken Arijaen Meertensdochter, married Arijaen Joris 23 Apr 1626 in Herwijnen, Gelderland, Nertherlands.
- Nieletien Arians, married Huiberet Hendricksen 15 Jul 1627 in Herwijnen, Gelderland, Netherlands.[3]
- Govert Ariens de Jongh.
- Engeltje Ariens de Jongh, married Guert Alertsen Rosa.
- Wyntje Ariens de Jongh, married Albert Heymans Roosa.

Alert Heijmensz Roosa, neighbor in Herwijnen has sold half of 4 morgen land undivided with the heirs of Govert Ariensz de Jongh in the jurisdiction of Hellouw inside the "Paelgraeft" located between land of Jasper Geritz east and Gerart Falcken west stretching south to land of Willem Jansz "cum suis" and north defected with 8 feet dike situated in the jurisdiction of Herwijnen downwards and half of the "thijns" (tithes or rents) of 8 guilders yearly to the heirs of Govert Ariens de Jongh before mentioned having in property and the before mentioned person (Alert Heijmensz) signs on that to the property of Arien Meertens. Dated: March 3 1660.

It is unclear from his notes as to which Maerten Ariens she married. Even though this couple is sometimes noted as the parents of Beerntje Maertens (see A-II-d) it seems more probable that she married to this Maerten, born circa 1603. (Van Rijckhuijsen MSS, found referred to in certain Gens Nostra articles as "Copye-brieven", translated by Engel Roza)…Probably the Meerten Adriaansz Jongh who served as waardsman in 1634. [3] According to the Herwijnen Through the Centuries website, Nieletien and Huiberet (Neelke and Huibert) had a son named Arien. I believe this Arien to be the same as the Arien Huiberts who called Alert Heymans “his uncle” in the Kingston court records (see section on Albert Heymans Roosa). He probably would then be the same person who was with Albert Heymans and Arien Allerts in the incident with the canoe and the one who said he had visited Albert Heymans’ wife during a riot.
