Footnotes:
[1] Only two other Whatlocks appear in Huffey’s transcriptions of the Rattlesden parish registers:
a burial
(06/19/1621  Whotlock, Rachel        Robert)
and a marriage
(07/19/1562    Orvis, Barthelemewe/Whatlock, Jone).
Rachel Whotlock seems to have been Robert’s daughter and, therefore, Thomas and Joane’s granddaughter. What Jone (Whatlock) Orvis’ relationship to Thomas may be is unknown but she married as Thomas and Joane began to have children and, therefore, could possibly be Thomas’ sister.
