Gilbert Fairbank and Jennet —

Citing this biography: Boyd, Michelle, "Gilbert Fairbank and Jennet —," article, Olive and Eliza, last accessed [current date]."

Gilbert Fairebanke was the son of John Fairbanke. He resided in Sowerby, Yorkshire, England. Gilbert married Jennet —.

Gilbert and his father John "surrendered unto the lord's hands" lands to the use of son George and his bride-to-be Sybil Wade. These lands included a messuage (a dwelling house with its outbuildings and land), one and a half gardens, half of a barn, a croft ("Lathecroft"), two closes of land and meadow (Overholme and Netherholme), and a wood (Le Sprynge). Gilbert also surrendered 18 1/2 acres in Sowerby on the same day to the use of George and his lawful heirs by Sibyl.

Gilbert was buried 3 March 1577 at St. John the Baptist church, Halifax, Yorkshire, England. His will was made "on his deathbed," according to TAG 37:66, with Gilbert being buried the same day (though this secondary source gives the date as 4 March), and proved 16 April 1578.

Jennet was buried 16 January 1578/9 at St. John the Baptist church, Halifax, Yorkshire, England (as "Ux. Gylbt. Fayrbank," or in other words, "the wife (uxor in Latin) of Gilbert Fayrbank"). Her will was dated 13 January 1578/9 and proved 3 May 1582.
