The parents of Anne Smith are not known. According to a 1663 deposition of Elizabeth Scott, one Robert Smith came to America with his wife and his sister Mary, another sister Anne having come a year earlier. When Robert and his wife returned to England, they left the two sisters, who each married. As Robert was said in this record to be a wine cooper in London, the Smiths may have originated in London, Middlesex, England.
