Jonathan Bunker and Elizabeth Coffin

Jonathan Bunker was born 25th 2 month 1674 in Nantucket, Massachusetts to William Bunker and Mary Macy. He had two older brothers, George and John, six younger brothers, Peleg, Jabez, Thomas, Benjamin, Daniel, and Christian, and four younger sisters, Ann, Abigail, and Jane. Jonathan married Elizabeth Coffin. Elizabeth was born 9th or 19th 7 month 1675 in Nantucket, Dukes (now Nantucket), Massachusetts to James Coffin and Mary Severance. Elizabeth came from a large family like Jonathan. She had three older sisters, Mary, Dinah, and Deborah, and five older brothers, James, Jr., Nathaniel, John, Ebenezer, and Joseph. She also had two younger brothers, Benjamin and Jonathan, and three younger sisters, Ruth, Abigail, and Experience. Jonathan died in 1721 in Nantucket, Massachusetts, his will being dated 16 Aug 1719 and probated 13 Sep 1721. Elizabeth married second Thomas Clark 30th 11 month (January) 1723/4 in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She died 30th 3 month 1769 in Nantucket, Massachusetts.

COFFIN, James, brother of Capt. Peter (4), born 12 Aug 1640, brought over in 1642, lived several years in Dover before settling in Nantucket. In New Hampshire freeman 1671, jury 1669, 1673. In November 1673 as merchant of the Ketch Neptune, David Kelly commander, Richard Cutt owner, he was captured by the Dutch. Lists 356 ghkm, 357ad, 359a. He married 3 December 1663 Mary Severance. Among their 14 traditional children, of whom 12 had families: Mary, b. Dover 18 Apr 1665, m. Richard Pinkham and James Gardner. Dinah, m. Nathl. Starbuck, jr., Benjamin, drowned 20 Jan 1703-4. List 96. In 1723 Mary, Dinah, Deborah, and Geo. Bunker, Esq., Elizabeth Bunker wid., and Ruth Gardner, all of Sherburn, Nantucket, sold the Dover lands willed to “my five daughters” by their father.

Abigail Worth married Benjamin Bunker, son of Jabez Bunker and Hannah Gardner, in 1743; (11-1743). Abigail Worth died on 23 April 1788 at age 66.
Her married name was Bunker.

Patience Bunker (F)

Patience Bunker was the daughter of Jonathan Bunker and Elisabeth Coffin. Patience Bunker married Jonathan Gardner, son of James Gardner and Mary Starbuck, in 1723. Patience Bunker died on 11 January 1794.

Judith Bunker was the daughter of Jonathan Bunker and Elisabeth Coffin. Judith Bunker married Uriah Gardner, son of Ebenezer Gardner and Eunice Coffin; Wid. of Alex Coffin. 2nd Spouse for both. Judith Bunker married Alexander Coffin, son of Ebenezer Coffin and Eleanor Barnard, in 1737. Judith Bunker died on 28 February 1789.
Her married name was Gardner. Her married name was Coffin.

Uriah Gardner (M)

Uriah Gardner married Judith Bunker, daughter of Jonathan Bunker and Elisabeth Coffin; Wid. of Alex Coffin. 2nd Spouse for both. Uriah Gardner married Ruth Bunker, daughter of Daniel Bunker and Priscilla Swain; His 1st wife. Uriah Gardner was born on 2 December 1716. He was the son of Ebenezer Gardner and Eunice Coffin. Uriah Gardner died on 3 August 1778 at age 61.
