Andreas Jäkel was born about 1773, probably in Graf, Samara,
Russia, to Friedrich Jäkel and Maria
Margaretha Wulff.
Andreas married Catharina Koller (last name also given as
Kohlner). Katherina was born about 1776 in Chasselois, Saratov, Russia,
almost certainly to Peter
Köhler and Elisabeth —. The colony of Chasselois was
destroyed by the Kirghiz (nomadic tribesmen who raided the colony) in
1785 and the survivors, including Katherina and her half-siblings
Michael and Maria Hein, moved to other colonies.
In 1798, Andreas and Catharina were listed in the household of his
father Friedrich in Graf. However, there is a note next to Friedrich
that "this family lost its livestock to plague and is currently located
in Stahl am Karaman and Schwed where they are herding cattle for the
inhabitants there; they have been there since the beginning of this
year." It is not entirely clear if Andreas was also hiring out in these
other colonies.
Andreas died 1822 in Graf, Samara, Russia.
Andreas and Catharina’s children are:
1 | Philipp
Jaekel, born about 1800 in Graf, Samara, Russia, married 1)
Agnes Billinger and 2) Elisabetha Krenzer 17 Jan
1833 in Graf, Samara, Russia, died 19 Feb 1851 of Graf, Samara,
Russia of fever. Wife 1: Agnes Billinger, d. bef. 17 Jan 1833. Wife 2: Elisabetha Krenzer, b. abt. 1801, m. 1) -- Schueler. Child (by Agnes): Margaretha Jaekel (m. Caspar Beier), Phillip Jaekel (d. young), and Maria Anna Jaekel (m. Andreas Braun). Children (by Elisabetha): Johannes Jaekel, Johannes Jaekel (d. young), Elisabetha Jaekel (m. Michael Windholz), Pulcheria Jaekel, Barbara Jaekel (d. young), and Anna Jaekel. Child (mentioned in Philipp's death record but mother uncertain): Katharina Jaekel. |
2 | Anton Heckel, born
about 1803 in Graf, Samara, Russia, died 1824 in Graf, Samara,
Russia. |
3 | Catharina Elisabetha
Jaekel, baptized 4 Apr 1806 in Rohleder, Samara, Russia. She
could possibly be the Elisabetha Jaeckel who married Gregorius
Johannes Knoll. However, another possibility is
that Elisabetha (Jaeckel) Knoll was Catharina Elisabetha's
half-first cousin, Maria
Elisabetha Jaekel. |
4 | Anna Jaeckel, born 18
March 1808 in Graf, Samara, Russia, baptized 19 Mar 1808. |
5 | Konrad Heckel, born in
about 1810 in Graf, Samara, Russia, died 1818 in Graf, Samara,
Russia. |
