Johann Adam Kloster and Maria Salome Zimmermann

Johann Adam Kloster was born 27 September 1725 to Georg Heinrich Kloster and Anna Maria Pabst. He was baptized 30 September 1725 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany. Johann Adam married first Maria Salome Zimmermann 11 October 1746 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany. Maria Salome was born 7 March 1723 in Habitzheim, Hesse, Germany to Johann Jacob Zimmermann and Maria Clara Weber.

The Klosters arrived in Russia 15 September 1766 from Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika. Johann Adam was listed as a Catholic and a farmer. Johann Adam and his children settled in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia 24 July 1767. Maria Salome appears to have died between sometime after the arrival and Johann Adam appears to have married second Margarethe -- before settling in Semenovka. Margarethe was born about 1742.

Johann Adam and Maria Salome's children are:

1 Phillipina Ernestina Kloster, born 9 Jan 1748, baptized 11 Jan 1748 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany, perhaps the Ernestine who married Valentin Rousch before 24 July 1767.

Possible husband: Valentin Rousch, b. abt. 1729.

2 Johann Adrian Kloster, born 18 Aug 1749, baptized 20 Aug 1749 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany, name also spelled Johann Andrian and Johann Adarian, died 18 Sep 1806 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia. No Johann Adrian Kloster is found in the 1798 census but an Andreas Kloster, who married Maria Teresia Gette, likely a misspelling of Adrian.

Possible wife: Maria Teresia Gette, b. abt. 1751, d. 1 May 1805 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia.

Possible children: Johann Adam Kloster, Friedrich Kloster, Eleonora Kloster, Anna Maria Kloster, Maria Teresia Kloster, Elisabeth Kloster, and Apollonia Kloster.

3 Johann Adam Kloster, born 19 Feb 1751, baptized 21 Feb 1751 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany, married Anna Maria Rupp, died 27 Dec 1837 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia.

Wife: Anna Maria Rupp, b. abt. 1767, died by 1834.

Children: Maria Eva Kloster and Maria Apolonia Kloster.

4 Anna Maria Kloster, born 2 Jul 1753, baptized 4 Jul 1753 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany, married Heinrich Edelmann, died 10 Jul 1835 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia.

Husband: Heinrich Edelmann, b. abt. 1749, died 9 May 1835 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia.

Children: Elisabeth Edelmann, Kaspar Edelmann, Eva Elisabeth Edelmann, Johann Georg Edelmann (d. as a young man), Christoph Edelmann, Apollonia Edelmann, and Anna Maria Edelmann.

5 Anna Magdalena Kloster, born 13 Apr 1755, baptized 15 Apr 1755 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany.

6 Johann Georg Kloster, born 1 Nov 1756, baptized 4 Nov 1756 in Georgenhausen, Hessen, Germany.

7 Eva Maria Kloster, born 8 May 1760, baptized 11 May 1760 in Georgenhausen, Hesse, Germany, married Joseph Grimm.

Husband: Joseph Grimm, b. abt. 1739 (according to the First Settlers List) or 1743 (according to the 1798 census), m. 1) Christina Margaretha --, arrived in Russia 4 Jul 1766, settled at Kamenka, Saratov, Russia 20 Aug 1767.

Children: Magdalena Grimm (m. Anton Haberkorn), Anna Maria Grimm (m. Joseph Kämerer), Maria Anna Grimm (m. Vitus Krieger), Johann Heinrich Grimm, Peter Grimm, Barbara Grimm (m. Joannes Wigant), Ottilia Grimm, and Margaretha Grimm.

Johann Adam and Margarethe's children are:

8 Probably Matthias Kloster, born about 1768, married Margaretha Reising, died in 1820.
He is a probable son (as is his brother Philipp) as there is no other Kloster family in Semenovka. The next oldest Kloster male was Adrian who would have been 19 at the time of Matthias's birth, so it is possible that Adrian was Matthias’ father. However, it seems more likely that Philipp would have been living with his brother if their father was dead. Adrian died in 1806 but Johann Adam was not listed in 1798 and was likely dead by then.

Wife: Margaretha Reising, b. abt. 1766.

9 Possibly Anna Maria Kloster, born about 1772.
The movement tables noted that she married Nikolaus Volmer in 1790 in Hildmann, Saratov, Russia. However, in the 1798 census, she is married to Peter Weissbeck. There is a Nikolaus Volmer in Hildmann (interestingly, married to a Katherina Stock, widow of Jakob Weissbeck). It unclear whether Anna Maria married another Nikolaus Volmer (who then died) and then married Peter Weissbeck by 1792 (as Peter and Anna Maria have a six-year-old son in 1798) or if Nikolaus Volmer was mistakenly identified as her husband and the movement tables should have reported her as marrying Peter Weissbeck.
Anna Maria was listed as the daughter of Adam Kloster but it is unclear if this was the elder or younger Johann Adam Kloster.

Possible husband 1: Nikolaus Volmer.

Husband (2?): Peter Weissbeck, b. abt. 1771.

Children: Johann Georg Kloster, Anna Margaretha Kloster, Maria Anna Kloster, Eleonora Kloster, Adamus Kloster, Johan Aloysius Kloster, Anna Elisabeth Kloster, and Antonius Kloster.

10 Possibly Margaretha Kloster, born about 1775 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia, married Adam Amrein in 1790 in Hildmann, Saratov, Russia.
Margaretha was listed as the daughter of Adam Kloster but it is unclear if this was the elder or younger Johann Adam Kloster.

Husband: Adam Amrein, b. abt. 1772.

Possible children: Johannes Amrein, Katharina Amrein, and Anna Maria Amrein. It is unclear from the census record whether the three younger members of the Amrein household were Adam and Margaretha’s children or perhaps additional children of Adam by his first wife.

11 Probably Philipp Kloster, born about 1776, living with his brother Matthias in 1798, married 1) – – and 2) Anna Maria Lamprecht 23 Jun 1807 in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia.

Wife 1: Name not known. Philipp was listed as a widower at the time of his second marriage.

Wife 2: Anna Maria Lamprecht.

Children (by Anna Maria): Maria Anna Kloster (d. young) and Joannes Georg Kloster.

12 Possibly Maria Eva Kloster, married Johann Adam Amrein in 1795 in Hildmann, Saratov, Russia.
Maria Eva was listed as the daughter of Adam Kloster but it is unclear if this was the elder or younger Johann Adam Kloster. Maria Eva is not listed in Hildmann in 1798. Johann Adam is not listed in Hildmann in 1798. Two Adam Amreins are listed but one was the deceased husband of a Margaretha Amrein and the other was married to Margaretha Kloster.

Husband: Johann Adam Amrein.

Child: Anna Maria Amrein.

13 Possibly Katharina Kloster, born about 1782, probably in Semenovka, Saratov, Russia, living with her sister Margaretha in Hildmann, Saratov, Russia in 1798, perhaps the Catharina Kloster who married Andreas Prediger 7 Feb 1800 in Hildmann, Saratov, Russia.

Possible husband: Andreas Prediger, perhaps the Andreas Prediger who d. 2 Dec 1833, aged 59 (b. abt. 1774).

Possible children: Johannes Michael Prediger, Philippus Prediger, and Petrus Prediger (d. young).
