A Heinrich Kuhn was not listed in the First Settlers Lists. However, there was a Johann Kuhn listed, who settled in Herzog, Samara, Russia and was of the same age as Heinrich. As Johann Kuhn is not seen in other records and there seems to be some overlap and connection between the known children of Johann and Heinrich. Therefore, it is likely that Johann and Heinrich are the same man. However, it is not known if Heinrich's full name was Johann Heinrich Kuhn (it was fairly common custom for German men to be named Johann plus another name and be called mainly by their second name) or if there was simply an error in the record and Johann was recorded instead of Heinrich.

Assuming this is correct, Heinrich was born about 1725 in Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. He was Catholic and a craftsman (handwerker). Heinrich married Anna Margaretha —. Anna Margaretha was born about 1725, probably also in Ebernburg.

The family arrived in Herzog, Samara, Russia 14 July 1766.

Anna Margaretha died before the census was taken in 1798 as Heinrich was listed as a widower. Heinrich died 20 Feb 1810 in Herzog, Samara, Russia.
