Jacob Pfeifer was born about 1651 to Jacob Pfeifer and Eva Stenger.

Jacob married Catharina Paulus 2 Sep 1680 at St. Martin’s Church, Orb (now Bad Orb), Main-Kinzig-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. Catharina was the daughter of Melchior Paulus and Catharina Schneider. According to the Bad Orb OFB, she was the daughter of Michael Paulus (also called Melchior in the OFB, though the reason for considering Michael and Melchior the same person was not explained in the OFB) and was baptized 11 Dec 1657 in Orb, Main-Kinzig-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. However, the baptismal record does not give the name of the child, only that a daughter of Michael Paulus of Pfaffenhausen was baptized that day. Catharina's marriage record states that her father was Melchior Paulus of Orb and he is also called Melchior in his marriage record to Catharina Schneider).

Jacob and Catharina were Catholic.
